Mobile security specialist Lockin Company (CEO Choi Myoung Kyu, www.lockincomp.com) announced on the 3rd that it has been selected as a company for KB Financial Group’s (Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu, hereinafter referred to as KB Financial Group) Fintech Startup Development Project, ‘KB Starters Valley.’ Lockin Company is the first mobile security company to be selected for this project. With this, Lockin Company has once again received support from KB Financial Group after attracting investment from the Industrial Bank of Korea, a public financial institution, and has once again been recognized for the credibility and excellence of its products. Lockin Company plans to lay the foundation for growth as a leading domestic mobile security company through this support project.
The selection of ‘KB Starters Valley’ was made in recognition of Lockin Company’s differentiated technology and growth potential that fundamentally blocks all hacking of mobile apps amid growing concerns about hacking and information leaks in mobile apps along with the expansion of the fintech market, including internet banking authorization and mobile easy payment. In the future, Lockin Company will participate in various businesses as an affiliate partner of KB affiliates, and will first be applied to the mobile financial service currently being promoted by KB Kookmin Bank.
Last year, Lockin Company launched the mobile application (app) security solution ‘LIAPP (LOCKIN APP PROTECTOR, LIAPP)’ and is actively expanding its business area. LIAPP is the only cloud-based mobile app security solution in Korea that encrypts the entire source code, and was recognized for its excellent security and technology, securing suppliers to leading domestic companies in finance, telecommunications, and major public institutions immediately after its launch. It protects both Android and iOS apps, and is the first mobile security company to offer compensation of up to 100 million won in the event of a hacking problem, thereby increasing customer satisfaction. In particular, product development specialized for the financial sector and companies is expected to gain momentum with this project selection.
Choi Myoung Kyu, CEO of Lockin Company, said, “This selection for KB Starters Valley was possible because we share the common core value that everyone should use safe fintech services in the mobile era where everything is possible through mobile,” and added, “Based on strategic cooperation with KB Financial, we will grow into a security company that will lead the future fintech era.”
