Lockin Company, Mobile App Security Solution ‘LIAPP’ Receives GS Certification Grade 1
2016.01.26
Mobile security specialist Lockin Company announced on the 26th that its mobile application security solution ‘LIAPP (LOCKIN APP PROTECTOR)’ received the GS (Good Software) Certification Grade 1 from the Korea Telecommunications Association (TTA) for domestic quality excellent software.
With this, Lockin Company’s next target, following its conquest of the financial sector mobile security market, is expected to be the government and public institution market.
Lockin Company has decided to start a full-scale public market strategy this year, as it has been officially recognized by a nationally authorized agency for its objective technical capabilities required for government and public institution supply.
GS certification is a system established by TTA to evaluate the completeness of domestic SW, and since the end of last year, the administrative SW suitability assessment system and the existing SW quality certification have been integrated.
As a result, if selected as a GS certification grade 1, small and medium-sized SW companies will be able to obtain SW quality certification, which certifies the quality of SW developed by the government, as well as the qualification for administrative SW, which certifies SW suitable for administrative work.
By obtaining this GS certification grade 1, Liapp will receive benefits such as the priority purchase system for small and medium-sized companies and the priority introduction of GS-certified products when establishing and operating administrative and public information projects, as a priority purchase target for public institutions.
Through this GS certification grade 1, Lockin Company plans to devote its energies to conquering the new public market, which is emerging as part of the recent government 3.0 policy, as the means of public institutions’ work expands from PCs to mobile devices.
In accordance with the spirit of government 3.0, which is the spirit of openness, sharing, communication, and cooperation of public information, public institutions are continuously releasing apps to handle various civil affairs on-site or to provide information more conveniently and easily.
Lockin Company plans to actively promote Reapp as a solution to solve security issues and to spur the expansion of related markets.
Released in September 2014, ‘LIAPP’ is a cloud-based Android app source code protection service.
Recently, in a situation where more than 90% of Android apps are exposed to hacking threats, ‘LIAPP’ was newly designed to fit the mobile environment rather than the existing PC security structure. It is not a simple source code rearrangement obfuscation method, but an encryption solution that blocks all hacking tools at the source, and can be easily applied with one click in just a few seconds. Recently, interest is increasing among financial institutions and game companies due to the strengthened compliance and changes in the fintech environment.
“By obtaining the GS certification, which can be considered a verification of SW quality, we have been recognized for our strong security optimized for mobile apps,” said Myoung Kyu Choi, CEO of Lockin Company. “In a situation where the CC certification system, which is a common evaluation standard, has not yet been introduced in the public market, we will actively target the mobile app security market of the government and public institutions based on obtaining the GS certification.”
