Lockin Company-Sparklab to Provide Mobile Security Service 'LIAPP' to Startups
2015.10.14
A win-win project is underway to protect mobile applications, which are important assets for startups aiming to become the next Mimibox, Mangoplate, and FiveRocks.
Mobile security specialist Lockin Company (CEO Choi Myoung Kyu) announced on the 14th that it will hold an event to provide mobile security service 'Reapp' for startups affiliated with Sparklab (CEO Lee Han-joo), a startup accelerator that fosters and supports ventures.
Through this, Lockin Company plans to focus on expanding sales targeting financial institutions and general companies, while also conducting strategic marketing activities to expand the base of 'Reapp' through coexistence with startups.
This is the first time that a security startup officially registered with Sparklabs is providing mobile security services to other registered companies. Since 2012, Sparklabs has discovered about 90 startups including FiveRocks, Mimibox, and Nori and supported their businesses in various ways, and Lockin Company is a 5th member invested and supported by Sparklabs.
Lockin Company will provide 'Reapp' services to existing startups currently receiving assistance from Sparklabs and startups that will be registered in the future through applications in the future. Startups receiving support from Sparklabs will be able to receive not only powerful mobile security services to protect mobile apps, which are one of the most important sales channels, but also separate services such as security consulting.
The 'Reapp' support event was planned based on the positive response to the 'Cheer Up, Startups' event held in December of last year. We received a great response by providing LiApp for free to startups that are entering the mobile-based 'O2O (Online To Offline)' service business to protect their mobile apps.
LIAPP protects mobile apps in a cloud manner by simply uploading the package file of an Android app to the LIAPP service (liapp.lockincomp.com) and downloading the package file with source code protection applied in just 3 seconds. It does not leave the protected file on the server but immediately deletes it, completely protecting the client's source code while eliminating the risk of leakage that the client is concerned about.
Choi Myoung Kyu, CEO of Lockin Company, said, "As a 5th member of SparkLabs, a leading domestic accelerator, we plan to provide LIAPP support services for startup companies supported by SparkLabs as a means of mutual cooperation rather than a simple investment relationship." He added, "While conducting marketing for startups that are relatively vulnerable to security, we will focus our sales force on the financial sector and public institutions that have recently been competitively releasing mobile apps to preempt the early market and advance as a leader."
