Korea Hostway Announces Cloud Conversion and Migration Support Program
2015.07.21
A mobile app security solution company and a global data center company are joining forces to take the lead in distributing cloud-based security solutions.
Mobile application security specialist Lockin Company (CEO Myoung Kyu Choi, www.lockincomp.com ) announced on the 21st that it has signed a strategic business partnership (MOU) with Korea Hostway (CEO Hae-min Lee, www.hostway.co.kr ), a cloud data center company, and will actively pursue business expansion. With this, Lockin Company plans to expand sales in the cloud computing environment, which is emerging as a new market in the ICT environment, and Hostway plans to pursue a win-win strategy between the two companies by providing services that introduce necessary security solutions to its customers.
First, Lockin Company installed its solution, ‘Mobile App Protection Solution LIAPP (LOCKIN APP PROTECTOR)’, in Hostway’s cloud data center. This is the first time that a purely domestic mobile application (hereinafter referred to as app) security solution is being serviced through a global cloud data center. Hostway, a global Internet Data Center (IDC) operating company, has recently been conducting a cloud conversion/transfer program that allows users to install and distribute existing installed applications directly by installing them in its cloud. Since last year, Lockin Company has been moving away from simple IDC rental business and providing various apps in the form of software as a service (SaaS: Service as a Service) like Amazon Web Services (AWS), becoming the first security solution company to join.
In addition, through this partnership, Lockin Company will launch a ‘mobile app protection solution service’ for customers using Hostway’s cloud hosting service. All customers using Hostway’s service can adopt a stable Reapp solution at a low price. In particular, unlike the existing licenses that are for one year, it can be used at a reasonable price with a monthly billing system, and a launch promotion is also being held in which Hostway will support 70% free of charge during the promotion period. Accordingly, it is expected that startup customers who were hesitant to adopt due to cost burden will be able to make a reasonable decision to apply Reapp and decide to use it for a long time.
Lockin Company, which was founded in 2013 by experts in each field with the goal of providing a mobile security solution that anyone can easily use, launched ‘Reapp’, a cloud-based Android app source code protection service, in October of last year. Unlike existing mobile security solutions, Reapp is a SaaS-type product that can encrypt the entire source code of a developed app in just 3 seconds by uploading it to the Reapp server, providing the best security while being easy and fast. It protects the source code by encrypting the entire source code, not by using an obfuscation method that makes it difficult to view the existing source code, and blocks all hacking activities that can occur in the app, such as memory modification, hacking, and debugging, in addition to protecting the source code. Since there is no need to purchase a separate forgery/tampering prevention solution, it secured suppliers for major domestic companies and major public institutions in the financial and telecommunications sectors immediately after its release.
Choi Myoung Kyu, CEO of Lockin Company, said, “As inquiries from companies seeking to utilize security solutions in the cloud poured in after the passage of the Cloud Development Act in March, we decided to form a business partnership with the global company Hostway and actively target the app security market through cooperation in building various cloud ecosystems.” He added, “We will take the lead in providing the most efficient security solutions to domestic app developers and companies through joint promotions with leading domestic and foreign companies in the future.”
